At Lightning, we produce software for digital media delivery - focused on CDs and DVDs. Our goal is to give you a faster, easier way to get the music or movies you're looking for - without having to wait for shipping or fight thru traffic to get to and from the mall. Instead, with our patent-pending software, we use your computer and your optical disc writer to create CDs or DVDs with the same entertainment content you'd buy in the store. DVDs come with all the bonus features you're used to - outtakes, alternate soundtracks, and trailers - and CDs also support bonus materials like "second session" bonus video content. We aim to give you exactly what you'd get by buying the shrink-wrapped copy - including the ability to print out the liner notes, cover art, jewel case, disc art, and all the other print collateral as well.
Our technology lets you buy content in the formats that work with your existing home entertainment system - you probably already have a CD player and a DVD player, and certainly if you want to take a movie over to your friend's house, what could be easier than just taking a DVD along?
Today, our software is currently available for Windows. Versions for Macintosh and Linux are planned but are not yet available.

to create audio CDs, you need a CD-RW drive (click for a list of recommendations)
to create video DVDs, you need a DVD-R or DVD+R drive (list of recommendations to be provided shortly)
Fast Internet connection (especially for movies!)

In order to create a CD, you need to have at least 800 megabytes of space free on your computer's hard drive.
In order to create a DVD, you need to have at least 10 gigabytes of space free on your computer's hard drive.
